A Blue Heron Family Camp Tradition

Since 1975, Blue Heron has been a place where families come together to unplug, reconnect, and create memories that last a lifetime. More than a resort, Blue Heron has the feel of a traditional summer family camp, where days are filled with swimming, beach adventures, games, barbecues, and evenings spent laughing together under the stars.

For many owners, Blue Heron has been part of family life for generations. Children who learned to swim in the pool and explore Hood Canal’s beaches now return with children and grandchildren of their own. Families gather year after year, strengthening traditions, sharing stories, and creating new memories in a place that feels both familiar and timeless.

Newer owners are often drawn to Blue Heron for that same sense of nostalgia and community. In a fast-paced world, it offers a rare opportunity to slow down, enjoy simple pleasures, and experience the joy of a summer home where friendships grow, families reconnect, and everyone feels welcome.

Summer days at Blue Heron are made for kayaking, dock jumping, beach picnics, and long evenings watching the sunset over Hood Canal. As autumn arrives, the pace becomes even more peaceful. Crisp mornings, colorful foliage, cozy fireplace evenings, and mist rising over the water create the perfect setting for a quiet getaway. Whether you’re gathering around a beach fire in July or enjoying a rainy October weekend with a book and a view, Blue Heron offers a special kind of comfort in every season.

When you arrive at Blue Heron, you’ll discover the spirit that keeps families coming back generation after generation: a place where lifelong memories are made, traditions are passed on, and every visit feels a little like coming home.
